We are seeking a skilled and driven Intern – Procurement Automation & Digital Supply Chain to join our expanding team and contribute to the success of our eVTOL program.
About the role:
Help digitise and automate Sarla’s procurement function. You will use AI tools and automation platforms to turn manual, repetitive tasks into live, connected workflows, support the build-out of our ERP, and create structured digital databases for vendors and inventory, while handling day-to-day procurement and supply chain administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Map daily procurement tasks (PR/PO tracking, RFQ follow-ups, approvals, delivery updates) and automate them into live, real-time workflows.
- Support ERP development and configuration (e.g., Sarla OS): set up modules, masters, approval flows and reports.
- Build and maintain a centralised digital vendor database covering supplier profiles, capabilities, certifications, contacts, NDAs and performance history.
- Create a digital inventory database with stock levels, part numbers, locations and reorder alerts, linked to the BOM.
- Use AI tools to speed up RFQ drafting, quote comparison, document summaries, supplier research and email communication.
- Handling Indirect procurement functions
- Build live dashboards for spend, open POs, supplier delivery and inventory status.
- Handle daily procurement admin: PO and invoice tracking, document filing, vendor onboarding paperwork and meeting notes.
- Prepare clear, well-designed presentations, reports and templates for internal reviews and supplier communication.
- Identify bottlenecks in current processes and propose practical digital improvements.
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in any engineering discipline, or a degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Supply Chain Management.
- 1–2 years of experience (including internships or projects) in workflow automation, AI tools or ERP, ideally within procurement or operations.
- Hands-on with automation tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, n8n, Make or Google Apps Script.
- Practical experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot or similar) for real work tasks.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills; working knowledge of Power BI, Looker Studio or similar dashboard tools.
- Basic understanding of the procurement cycle: PR, RFQ, PO, GRN and invoicing.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, self-driven attitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic Python or SQL for data cleaning, scripting or API integrations.
- Exposure to ERP customisation (Inhouse ERP)
- Interest in aerospace, eVTOL, EV or manufacturing supply chains.
- Creative flair for presentations and visual reporting (Canva, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment and eager to learn across functions.
- Languages: English (mandatory); Kannada and Tamil preferred.
