Position Overview
The Process Quality Engineering (PQE) Intern will support quality, contamination control, and process improvement initiatives within Fab4 Technology Development and High-Volume Manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional engineering teams, analyze manufacturing and process data, and contribute to solutions that improve semiconductor manufacturing performance and reliability.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in process quality engineering, statistical analysis, contamination control methodologies, and the application of AI-driven tools to manufacturing challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze process quality and contamination data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective action activities related to manufacturing and process performance.
  • Apply AI and data analysis techniques to develop dashboards, reports, and monitoring tools that improve operational visibility.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive process improvements and contamination control initiatives.
  • Present technical findings, recommendations, and project results through reports and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills through coursework, projects, or research experience.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework, research, or project experience in semiconductor processing, materials characterization, process engineering, or manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience using statistical methods and data-driven approaches to solve technical or engineering problems.
  • Experience applying AI, data visualization, or analytical tools to evaluate process performance and support decision-making.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software, programming, or reporting tools used in engineering environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a collaborative research or manufacturing setting.
