Thoratec Switzerland GmbH is part of the medical device division of Abbott Laboratories, a fortune 500 company with over 115’000 employees worldwide. Our life-saving systems, which we develop and manufacture in Zurich, are used for advanced heart failure patients needing short- or long-term circulatory support.
Our location in the heart of the city of Zurich has around 130 employees in the areas of development, quality and production of the CentriMag system and the HeartMate 3. We are looking for a motivated and talented
Intern to join our team.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Performs entry-level professional business support/administrative work, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility as on-the-job/formal training is received.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of entry-level duties and assists higher-level personnel in research and analysis related to areas such as administrative regulations, policies, processes, procedures, systems, methods, reports, and forms.

Participates in analytic studies by conducting routine research, identifying samples, assembling and compiling data in well-defined areas related to administrative regulations, policies, procedures, systems, methods, reports, and forms.

Applies basic statistical analysis techniques or, with detailed instructions, more advanced statistical techniques in analyzing data.

Assists in statistical process control analysis SPC.

Assists in writing specifications, procedures, and manuals.

Assists in supplier manufacturing process validation.

Fully utilizes the capabilities and functions of standard office software applications such as data management, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing in completing assigned projects.

Prepares reports, presentations, operational documents and correspondence containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content related to business and operational activities subject to review and editing by higher-level staff members.
Education

Field of Study in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
