The Opportunity 

This opportunity is best suited for candidates in their penultimate year of study looking for a Summer role starting in May 2025.

Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, and grid technologies, with our global power modelling and analysis capabilities, our Wood Mackenzie Power and Renewables team deliver advice that inform and support our clients’ decisions in the complex and rapidly changing electric power industry. Located globally, we provide research and analysis that help our clients actively pursue the energy transition. 

This role is focused looking at the Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE).

In this role, you will:

  • Support on the global LCOE data processing and quality assurance:  Collect, clean, and validate global LCOE input data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Research on policies and financing assumptions: Support researching the latest global energy policies and financing regulations, analysing the impact of these policies and regulations on LCOE estimates.

  • Support in producing reports and visualising LCOE Results:  Prepare clear and concise LCOE reports that are tailored to the needs of different stakeholders whilst visualising LCOE results using charts, graphs, and other infographics.

Requirements

Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with a quantitative, statistical, energy and/or economics focus.

Wood Mackenzie follows a hybrid work structure, but during the duration of this internship the successful candidate would highly benefit from being in the office frequently.

Applicants must have the legal Right to Work in the country this role is based in. We are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Great written and verbal communication 

  • Willingness to learn about our business from the ground up

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • A genuine interest in energy market dynamics – some knowledge of the key drivers of the energy transition (through studies or general background reading) would be beneficial
