Intern - Planning
Based at Silueta, Biyagama
We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual to support production planning and coordination activities within the Planning function. The role provides valuable exposure to production scheduling, capacity planning, ERP systems, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to the effective execution of production plans and on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and management of production and delivery plans to ensure smooth operational execution.
- Assist in production and capacity planning activities to optimize resource utilization and meet delivery targets.
- Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, and related teams to ensure timely execution of production schedules.
- Monitor planning data and update schedules based on operational requirements and changes.
- Assist in tracking production progress and highlighting potential risks or delays.
- Support data collection, reporting, and analysis to improve planning accuracy and operational performance.
- Maintain planning records, reports, and documentation within ERP systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights and process support.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of Production Planning and Capacity Planning concepts.
- Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems, preferably SAP, will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Skills Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of production planning and capacity planning concepts.
