Intern - Mission Analysis

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented Mission Analysis Intern to support the early-phase activities of the Future Systems team, starting with the mission design of the lunar mission for our lunar lander projects.

In your capacity as Mission Analysis Intern, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

• Perform mission design trade-offs for early-phases studies, starting with our lunar lander.

• Proposing and designing the orbital and landing trajectories of our lunar lander.

• Document and communicate clearly technical design choices and results.

• Improve the robustness, automation and fidelity of our mission design tools.

Ideally, for the role of Mission Analysis Intern, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Enrolled in or have recently completed a university level program (Masters) in an engineering or scientific discipline

• Strong understanding of classical dynamics, orbital, and flight mechanics

• Affinity toward optimization problems

• Experience with computer programming, especially with Python.

• Full professional proficiency in English. Elementary proficiency in German and French is an asset.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizing and prioritization of tasks

• Capacity to challenge and propose alternative solutions and ways of working

• Be resilient in adapting to changes and meeting new demands as projects evolve.
