Intern (m/f/d) in the field of process simulation, optimization & data analysis - with salary details
We are Covestro. We are curious. We are courageous. We are colorful. We refine chemical material solutions with game-changing products. Let us empower you to push boundaries. Join us and our 18.000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.
Your future field of Action
From our technology center in Leverkusen, we support our global production plants in the manufacture of isocyanates. Our daily tools include process simulations of varying complexity and modern methods of data analysis. The year 2025 presents us with a particular challenge: we will be switching large parts of our process simulation to an innovative, latest-generation process simulator, AVEVA Process Simulation. To this end, our team is already working very closely with colleagues from AVEVA to exploit the full potential of the new technology.
As part of your internship, we will integrate you into this and other everyday projects. You will have the opportunity to support us with the knowledge you have acquired so far and we will offer you insights into the multifaceted challenges of simulating real large-scale plants. At Covestro, we are committed to an active intern network in which we will integrate you and through which you will gain insights into our company.
In addition to our wide range of benefits, you can expect an attractive salary of €2,100 gross/month for a full-time position.
These tasks await you
-
You will gain an insight into the process simulation of our production plants, model-based process optimization and analysis
-
You will provide support in the area of conceptual process design
-
You will also be responsible for applying data analysis and machine learning methods for process optimization
-
You will have the opportunity to work on your own sub-projects and discuss your results with the respective experts from our interdisciplinary team
This Makes You Our Perfect Match
-
You are currently studying for an advanced bachelor’s or master’s degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, information technology, computational engineering science or similar.
-
You can already demonstrate relevant specialist knowledge in the field of process engineering or statistical data analysis with application relevance to process engineering, e.g. on the basis of good grades in completed examinations such as process development, simulation technology, computer-aided process development, etc., through your bachelor’s or student research project, or through your work as a student assistant (m/f/d)
-
Knowledge of relevant software for simulation, e.g. Aspen Plus, AVEVA Process Simulation, or similar, or for data analysis, e.g. Python, is an advantage
-
In addition, you are creative, work independently and like to contribute to the team in order to achieve goals together
We are the right place for you if you are looking for a future career in research & development with a focus on process simulation, typically as a direct entry or following a doctorate, for which this internship will give you a good insight into your future professional life.
