Responsibilities
- Contribute to the mechanical design and development of drone components, payload systems, and assemblies for the WingtraOne and upcoming products
- Assist in CAD modeling, detailed part and assembly drawings, tolerance analysis, and design reviews
- Support prototyping using 3D printing, machining, and other rapid fabrication methods
- Perform testing and validation of mechanical systems, including structural, thermal, and environmental testing
- Participate in field testing of drones to validate hardware performance in real-world conditions
- Participate in root-cause analysis and contribute to iterative design improvements
- Document mechanical designs, test procedures, and design decisions for internal knowledge sharing
- Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, personal feedback sessions as well as company-wide all-hands meetings
Requirements
- Completed your B.Sc. and currently pursuing a M.Sc. in Mechanical / Aerospace / Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proficient with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360)
- Hands-on mindset, comfortable in a workshop or lab environment building and testing prototypes
- Good communication and teamwork skills, good command of spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, curious, and excited to work on real-world hardware challenges
Plus
- Experience with drones, UAVs, or other robotic systems
- Experience with 3D printing
- Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and working with external suppliers or manufacturers
- Exposure to systems engineering approaches, including requirement management and traceability
- Experience with version control for CAD files
- Basic python programming skills (to analyse test logs or automate test setups)
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with electrical/firmware engineers
