We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.

We are seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to support Xylem’s inorganic growth through hands-on involvement in M&A integration strategy and process development. This role will focus on helping Xylem build a repeatable, enterprise-wide integration management approach.

The intern will work directly with the Segment M&A Leader and collaborate with cross-functional leaders across the company. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to real-world M&A integration beyond financial analysis—focusing instead on operational, cultural, and strategic execution.

Integration Process Design & Documentation

  • Develop a standardized M&A integration process that can be adopted across Xylem, including phases, milestones, templates, and decision frameworks. Map and document existing integration workflows used in various segments; identify best practices and gaps.
  • Create user-friendly process guides, toolkits, and training materials for Xylem teams.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with HR, Finance, IT, Operations, Legal, Communications, and commercial teams to gather integration requirements and pain points.
  • Assist in designing a centralized Integration Management Office (IMO) support model.
  • Support development of integration governance, roles/responsibilities, and communication plans.

M&A Data & Insights

  • Conduct analysis on past integrations to identify patterns, lessons learned, and key drivers of success.
  • Benchmark integration processes against industry standards.
  • Prepare internal presentations summarizing insights for senior leadership.
  • Operational Support
  • Support active integration projects as needed, including meeting coordination, action tracking, synergy discussions, and project documentation.
  • Help prepare leadership updates and dashboards to track integration progress.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, HR, Operations Management, Strategy, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about corporate M&A and integration execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or prior experience in M&A, corporate strategy, consulting, project management, or process design.
  • Experience creating process maps, templates, or training materials.
  • Comfort working with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams--

What You Will Gain

  • Exposure to real-world M&A integration activities at a global scale.
  • Skill development in process design, stakeholder engagement, and program management.
  • Experience translating business strategy into operational execution.
  • Mentorship from seasoned M&A professionals.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a foundational enterprise capability with long-term organizational impact.
