POSITION TITLE: LOGISTICS INTERN
DEPARTMENT: Logistics
REPORTS TO: Manager, Logistics
HOURS/SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (May-August, 2026)
HOURLY/SALARY STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibility of the Logistics Intern is to support the Transportation Planners in their daily responsibilities. The Logistics Intern performs a variety of tasks including executing shipments via parcel and LTL carriers, preparing import/export documents and executing transactions using the ERP system, IFS.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create shipping documents including commercial invoices and packing slips
- Assist with staging orders when needed
- Request shipping quotes as needed
- Communicate shipping instructions to freight forwarders
- Run reports and print orders using the IFS system
- Track and trace shipments upon request
- Ship orders via parcel, less than truckload or truckload as needed
- Utilize pallet jack to load trucks

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator’s license, permit or the ability to obtain one
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend, squat, crawl, climb or reach frequently throughout the day
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
