Position Summary:

• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, core hours 8am-5pm
• 100% on-site (Madison, WI)
• Full-time internship starting May 18th, 2026 (12-weeks)

Catalent, Inc. is a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). Located in Madison, WI, this facility features advanced mammalian cell line engineering and biomanufacturing capabilities using single-use systems to support scalable production. This 263,000 sq. ft. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility offers integrated formulation and analytical services to address complex development challenges in Biologics.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of IT infrastructure and support. As an IT Intern, you will work closely with our Madison IT team on several key projects and daily operations. This role is designed to provide you with practical experience and a deeper understanding of user support, IT infrastructure, network management, and asset management.

The Role:

• Network Infrastructure Support – Assist with switch replacements, conduct pre‑/post‑cutover testing, document network configurations, participate in downtime planning, and shadow engineers to learn MDF/IDF standards including rack organization, cable management, and environmental requirements
• ServiceNow Asset & Inventory Management – Clean up and validate hardware inventory, update and maintain accurate CMDB asset records, support e‑waste and decommissioning workflows, and identify opportunities to improve asset‑management processes
• MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) Operations & Preventative Maintenance – Develop understanding of MDF/IDF structures, assist with routine maintenance tasks, and help ensure optimal reliability and performance of distribution frame environments
• End-User Technical Support – Provide basic hardware/software troubleshooting and support, document common issues, and contribute to timely resolution of user-reported problems
• IT Documentation & Process Optimization – Create and update SOPs, user guides, and technical documentation while contributing to efficiency improvements across IT workflows and procedures
• Technical Training & Professional Development – Participate in training sessions and workshops, and shadow IT professionals across roles to build technical competency and broaden IT operational knowledge
• Other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university program
• Must have a basic understanding of network infrastructure and IT hardware
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
• Physical requirements: Individual may be required to lift and/or move 0-10 pounds frequently, and occasionally moving and/or lifting up to 40 pounds
