Labcorp is seeking an Audit Intern to join our Internal Audit Department

located in Burlington or Durham, NC with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

Work Schedule:

Days/Hours: Monday–Friday / 40 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate professionally within the Internal Audit Department and externally with process owners.

  • Contribute during audit engagements and work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Objectively evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.

  • Identify potential gaps and/or opportunities for improvement in the internal control structure.

  • Perform data analysis procedures to summarize and present relevant aspects of large data sets.

  • Verify that processes and internal controls are effective in managing operational, financial, regulatory, and business risks.

  • Perform Internal Audit or special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program.

  • Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Excel Power Query.

About the Team:

The Internal Audit Department provides interns with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting audit engagements and evaluating internal controls across the organization. As a member of the team, the intern will work collaboratively with Internal Audit team members and process owners while gaining exposure to operational, financial, regulatory, and business risks. The role also provides experience using data analysis to evaluate processes, identify potential gaps, and support opportunities for improvement.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 11 weeks, full-time

  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027–August 13, 2027

  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates

  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (December 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
