Intern – Industrial Engineering
Based at MAS Capital Intimates, Rathmalana
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Industrial Engineering Intern to support process improvement and operational excellence initiatives. The intern will work closely with engineering and operational teams to analyze workflows, optimize processes, improve space utilization, and contribute to productivity enhancement projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial engineering principles and real-world business challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct workflow and operational studies to support process optimization initiatives.
- Analyze current layouts and recommend improvements for effective space utilization.
- Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to support engineering decisions.
- Participate in time studies, capacity planning, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing engineering solutions to reduce waste and improve quality.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Undergraduate pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Physical Sciences.
- Strong understanding of industrial engineering concepts and process analysis.
- Knowledge of process improvement and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with workplace layout planning and space utilization principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
Skills Required
- Undergraduate pursuing or recently completed degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Physical Sciences
- Strong understanding of industrial engineering concepts and process analysis
