IT Intern

PPG's IT Operations Center (ITOC) is looking for a student or emerging professional to join our dynamic global team. As an ITOC Network Analyst Intern, you will help support the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise network infrastructure. You will work with experienced network engineers and IT professionals to gain hands-on experience in network operations, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using tools such as network monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Palo Alto, Prognosis, Meraki).

• Help resolve network issues including latency, packet loss, and connectivity problems.

• Support configuration and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Document network incidents, changes, and configurations following ITIL or internal standards.

• Collaborate with senior network engineers to implement network upgrades and improvements.

• Participate in network audits and inventory management.

• Stay updated on networking trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field

• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.

• Familiarity with network hardware and diagnostic tools is a plus.

• Familiarity with firewalls, switches, routers, and load balancers (Cisco, Fortinet)

• Knowledge of VPN, WAN, LAN, and SD-WAN technologies

• Ability to troubleshoot network outages, latency, and performance issues
