DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking to hire a Highways Intern for the Summer of 2026. With multiple offices in Wisconsin, the successful Highways Intern will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the Madison and/or Milwaukee, WI office supporting the transportation department with technical duties and daily activities. In this internship, you may also have the opportunity to work on-site under the direction of a Construction Manager assisting with and documenting construction inspection activities, researching and solving problems in the field, and assuring conformance to plans/specifications.
We are seeking an Intern for the Summer 2026.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar program
- Focus in Transportation Practice preferred
- Software proficiency – Microsoft Office
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $22- $27 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
