2. Program Objectives
• To expose interns to real-world finance and accounting operations.
• To allow interns to develop critical skills, such as general ledger management, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and planning, and insights generation.
• To create networking opportunities and foster professional relationships within the company.

3. Intern Responsibilities and Duties

Accounting Tasks:
o Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
o Support accounts receivable/payable functions.
o Process journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
o Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
o Prepare significant account reconciliations and investigate variances.

Finance Tasks:
o Conduct financial analysis and help with risk assessments.
o Assist with budget preparation and forecasts.
o Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
o Support development and reporting of KPI’s and SaaS metrics.

Business Insights Tasks:
o Analyze financial data and assist with trend identification for business insights.
o Assist in market research, competitive analysis, and customer analytics.
o Prepare dashboards or visualizations of business insights (Excel, Power BI).
4. Program Structure

Week 1: Orientation and Introduction
o Overview of the company, its culture, and organizational structure.
o Introduction to the finance, accounting and business insights team, roles, and processes.
o Training on necessary software/tools, data management systems, and accounting policies.

Weeks 2-7: Hands-on Learning and Daily Tasks
o Job Shadowing: Interns observe team members in finance, accounting, and business insights
departments.
o Assign specific tasks (accounting reconciliations, financial statement analysis, etc.).
o Provide ongoing support and mentorship from senior accountants or financial analysts.
o Mid-program feedback session with supervisor to review progress.

Weeks 8-9: Specialized Projects and Deeper Involvement
o Interns take ownership of more complex tasks (e.g., assisting with an audit, preparing reports for management).
o Mentorship on professional development and career paths in finance/accounting.
o Interns can participate in client meetings, if relevant.

Week 10: Final Review and Presentation
o Interns summarize their learning and present a final project (could be a financial analysis, report, or project relevant to their tasks).

5. Skills Development

Technical Skills:

• Networking: Facilitate interactions with senior leaders in finance, accounting and business insights to build networking opportunities.

7. Evaluation & Feedback
• Mid-term Evaluation: Assess intern performance after 5-6 weeks through feedback from mentors, supervisors, and peers.
• End-of-Program Evaluation: A formal evaluation to review the intern’s overall performance, skills development, and achievements.
• Final Presentation: Interns present a summary of their work, including key takeaways and what they learned during the program.
• Feedback to Interns: Provide constructive feedback on areas of strength and areas for improvement.
