ING in Asia Pacific
In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 13 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia and includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Sectors, Lending, Capital Markets & Advisory and Transaction Services and other support functions.
What does the Financial Institutions Team do in ING?
ING’s Financial Institutions (FI) sector combines relationship management, multi-product sales and structured lending for Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI). NBFI clients include sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies and alternative and traditional asset managers.
What would you be doing?
Work closely with the FI Coverage, Trade Finance product sales teams.
Assist with origination efforts including briefing memos, client mapping, research, and pitch presentations.
Assist with portfolio management including customer due diligence, transaction management, and client monitoring.
Prepare communication for various internal stakeholders including account plans, pipeline tracking, transaction status, and other portfolio updates.
Assist with KYC matters (both internal and external stakeholders)
Monitor information and news services on client base and share client/sector developments with the team
Support the FI Trade finance team with account management duties such as logging trade finance transactions, transactional due diligence and transaction execution.
Assist in compiling data, pricing grid updates and Trade finance portfolio analysis.
What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?
We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:
Qualification:
2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.
Skills & Competencies:
• Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.
• Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.
• Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank as a whole.
• Ability to communicate clearly with fluent spoken and written English.
• Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
This internship will start from May/June 2025 and it will be a 6 months internship period.
