Intern - Engineering Operations

Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our Utilities, Energy, and Facilities team. This internship offers hands-on experience in critical facility and utility systems that support pharmaceutical manufacturing, providing a unique opportunity to work on energy efficiency projects, system reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.

Education, Experience & Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline) in their last year or 2nd last year of the Degree Program.
• Strong interest in facility and utility engineering within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monitoring and optimization of utility systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, and purified water systems.
• Assist in energy data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Participate in preventive maintenance planning and execution for key utility equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure facility infrastructure supports GMP compliance and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to facility improvement projects, including layout modifications, equipment upgrades, and sustainability initiatives.
• Assist with documentation, including SOPs, equipment logs, and engineering drawings.
• Support regulatory inspections and audits by ensuring system documentation and operation are aligned with standards.
