ABOUT THE PROGRAM – Summer 2025 Internship

  • Expand your knowledge and skills while gaining hands-on professional experience 

  • Engage with leaders throughout the organization and learn about the clean energy industry through weekly lunch-and-learns. 

  • Visit our nearby power plants: Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center 

  • Spend a day giving back to the community with our ‘Volunteer Time Off’ program 

  • Have lunch with our CEO and Founder, Michael Polsky 

  • Attend a networking mixer to learn more about and engage with representatives from our various affinity groups (Women’s Network, LGBTQ+, Black & Brown, Veteran’s Network, & more!) 

  • Explore Chicago with your fellow interns 

  • Our program takes place from June – August lasting for 10-12 weeks 

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Invenergy Communications team – creating and executing strategies to support Invenergy’s rapidly growing global business. The digital intern will support company goals through social media, digital content, analytics reporting and messaging development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute communications activities that advance Invenergy’s business and policy goals, promote, and protect Invenergy’s external reputation, attract talent, and position Invenergy’s subject matter experts as thought leaders. 

  • Maintain digital communications editorial calendar.

  • Draft social media post copy, blog posts and other digital content

  • Interpret and report on campaign analytics.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to execute digital strategies.

  • Support marketing efforts for our Invenergy Services business development 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and Summer 2026

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in corporate communications, media relations, marketing communications, public relations, publishing, social media, or related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. 

  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail. 

  • Self-starter with a great work ethic who can work under pressure and maintain quality across multiple assignments. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high achieving, entrepreneurial environment. 

Base Pay

22.00 - 25.00 USD Hourly

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Your recruiter can share more about the base pay for this internship opportunity during the hiring process. 

Interns may be eligible to contribute to a 401k.
