Responsibilities

About the role:

This role focuses on analyzing portfolio performance, validating data accuracy, and transforming business challenges into actionable, data-driven insights. The position partners closely with management and internal stakeholders to develop reports, support credit risk analysis, manage multiple projects, and present recommendations that drive informed business decisions.

In this role you will:

  • Employ best practices of data analysis and validation to ensure data results are accurate  
  • Ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks under pressure and meet deadlines  
  • Ability to design and implement model documentation  
  • Ability to identify and understand business issues and map these issues into quantitative questions  
  • Ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision  
  • Capable of managing multiple and varied projects  
  • Data analysis, good spreadsheet modeling, and credit risk techniques skills  
  • Effective written and verbal presentation skills with an ability to communicate well with management  
  • Work directly with internal customers (management) to create/adjust reports  
  • Assist and Contribute to the portfolio performance reporting efforts on an auto finance portfolio  
  • Summarize findings, develop recommendations and present analyses to management in a clear, concise, convincing, and actionable format

Qualifications

What makes You an ideal candidate?

  • Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or related with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship.  
  • Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4-point scale) overall GPA.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. This incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders.  
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required.  
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.  
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting.  
  • Previous internships are considered a plus  

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:  

  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
