Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Commercial Lines for our Columbus, Ohio office. This is a full-time summer internship for summer 2027 and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week.  Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need. This will be an in-office working role with potential for some hybrid scheduling. You must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
This role will report to the Assistant Vice President, Quality Assurance and Projects Commercial Lines Underwriting Office. 
Pay=$18.00 per hour

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Intern will perform tasks, projects and research in support of functional areas with underwriting and the underwriting office. The objective is to provide meaningful and impactful support to the business teams. Will also be exposed to different areas within the company to gain a broad understanding of insurance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Opportunities with corporate and regional underwriting teams. Perform routine transactional activities on non-complex risks and established accounts following established procedures.
  • Assist in issuance, assembly and other support of policies based on the strategy at the direction and guidance of the manager in underwriting.
  • Field routine service and research project requests, referring more complex issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely servicing of accounts and projects.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
  • This is a full-time summer internship and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need.
  • Preference may be given to those pursuing a degree in Business Administration and/or Finance.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Ability to work well with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work as an outstanding team member and perform based on established standards and expectations.
