RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Actively participate in the pre-planning, logistics and execution of the tournament as well as special events
- Assist with Volunteer Administration: recruitment, data entry, volunteer package preparation, volunteer headquarters management, training plans and execution, meeting schedules, sponsorship elements, etc.
- Update and enhance creative items
- Assist with corporate hospitality, including activation and facilitating relationships with tournament sponsors, clients, vendors, etc.
- Manage pre-event shipping and storage of client boxes
- Develop content and assist with the volunteer social media (Facebook) efforts, website, and newsletter (MailChimp)
- Submit credential orders and client requests (shuttle passes, bag tags and complimentary tickets)
- Responsible for the inventory, storage and organization of all tournament apparel, gifts, etc.
- Assist with general administrative work including purchasing, billing, and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Computer Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or currently enrolled as a graduate or senior undergraduate student
- Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Hospitality, Communications, or comparable majors preferred
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in basic social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and MailChimp is preferred
- Skill Set Requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must take initiative in project management and problem solving
- Capacity to address multiple tasks simultaneously and remain composed under pressure
- Organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, clients, partners, vendors, and general public
- Heavy lifting and labor are required
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. International applicants must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of internship.
- Applicant is responsible for their own food, lodging, and transportation
Compensation: $15/hour with potential of overtime. College credit available.
Hours: 30 - 40 hours a week based on tournament office needs. Hours will increase leading up to and during tournament week.
