Responsibilities

About this role:

The Business Systems Analyst Intern supports ongoing efforts to improve business processes and operational efficiency by assisting with the analysis of business requirements and identifying opportunities for process enhancements. This role collaborates with team members to gather information, evaluate workflows, and contribute to initiatives that help streamline operations and improve productivity.

The intern also helps maintain system documentation, develop workflow diagrams, prepare reports by analyzing data and trends, and provide support to end users as needed. This position offers hands-on experience in business analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to special projects and team objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in development and implementing business strategies to improve operational processing and productivity
  • Help analyze process for the business and/or user requirements
  • Provide support for users by writing and maintaining system documentation, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, providing user support and training
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Contribute to team effort by completing special projects as needed
Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required, this incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
  • Previous internships considered a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (including Excel, Word and Access)
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to commit to work 40 hours for 11 consecutive weeks during the summer (May 26, 2027-August 6,2027)
  • Must participate in all GMF sponsored events for interns
  • Must adapt to a Hybrid Work Model

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:  

  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection 

Work Experience and Education

  • Junior or Senior classification Pref
  • Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4 point scale) overall GPA Req
  • High School Diploma
  • Associate Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a business related field Required
  • Master’s Degree
