As a Systems Engineer Intern at Honeywell, you will gain firsthand expertise in designing and validating complex embedded, networked, and distributed systems for the building automation industry. Based in Mexico City, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to translate customer needs into robust requirements, build Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and support certification and system architecture.
Responsibilities- Assist in system architecture design, requirements definition, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) development for next-generation building automation solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (embedded hardware, firmware, software, QA, and certification) to support project delivery.
- Support hardware-software integration, system testing, and lab troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate engineering and validation workflows.
You must have
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics (or currently pursuing)
- Foundational understanding of systems integration, embedded systems, and debugging/troubleshooting concepts.
- Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).

- Working, Academic or extracurricular experience (projects, competitions, or prior internships) involving embedded systems development, Embedded Linux Kernel, BSP, Systems Programming or User-Space Development.
- Programming experience in C, C+, phyton and Linux shell scripting.
- Strong analytical, root-cause analysis, and critical thinking skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn new engineering methodologies.
