You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your working student position is at the Finkenwerder plant and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and at noon. Your tasks and responsibilities

As part of our team, you will assist our senior capabilities engineers in creating the next generation application for analysing landing incidents to support our on-call teams. The application analyzes recorded flight data and simulates landing incidents in order to evaluate potential overload conditions on landing gear and fuselage. It aims to replace existing tools in order modernize our ways of working and harmonize tooling across sites.  

You will be directly involved in the development process as part of the team, taking responsibility and ownership of tasks including development, research, and requirements management, with close support from your supervisors. You will be onboarded into the development workflow and learn the technology stack that we use for this application, including frontend, backend, data management, server hosting, and APIs. All development will be in close collaboration with L&A engineering experts as the end users, so you will directly be able to apply your Aerospace engineering knowledge.

  • Good proficiency in Python programming

  • Knowledge in Web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React) is a plus

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

Als Teil unseres Teams unterstützt du unsere erfahrenen Capabilities Engineers bei der Erstellung der nächsten Anwendungsgeneration zur Analyse von Landevorfällen, um unsere Bereitschaftsteams zu unterstützen. Die Anwendung analysiert aufgezeichnete Flugdaten und simuliert Landevorfälle, um potenzielle Überlastungszustände an Fahrwerk und Rumpf zu bewerten. Ziel ist es, bestehende Tools zu ersetzen, um unsere Arbeitsweisen zu modernisieren und die Tools standortübergreifend zu harmonisieren.

Du wirst als Teil des Teams direkt in den Entwicklungsprozess eingebunden und übernimmst die Verantwortung für Aufgaben in den Bereichen Entwicklung, Forschung und Anforderungsmanagement – stets mit enger Unterstützung durch deine Betreuer. Du wirst in den Entwicklungs-Workflow eingearbeitet und lernst den Technologie-Stack kennen, den wir für diese Anwendung nutzen (einschließlich Frontend, Backend, Datenmanagement, Server-Hosting und APIs). Die gesamte Entwicklung erfolgt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den L&A-Ingenieurexperten (Loads & Aeroelastics) als Endnutzern, sodass du dein Wissen im Bereich der Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik direkt anwenden kannst.

Gewünschte Fähigkeiten und Qualifikationen
  • Laufendes Studium im Bereich Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Maschinenbau oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung

  • Starke analytische Fähigkeiten mit ausgeprägter Liebe zum Detail

  • Gute Kenntnisse in der Programmierung mit Python
