OverviewThe Intern position serves as an educational development opportunity. Under the close direction of a colleague, assumes responsibility for operational projects and supporting the leadership initiatives for a defined period of time. Assists in completion of various projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned department and healthcare industry. Coordinates and assists with projects based on operational needs and/or Intern's area of interest. Communicates ongoing progress related to currently assigned tasks.
- Assist with day-to-day departmental operations.
- Support team members with project tasks, deliverables, and administrative activities.
- Conduct research and analysis on topics relevant to the department.
- Prepare and organize reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and departmental initiatives.
- Track and communicate progress on assigned projects and tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be currently pursuing and/or enrolled in a college or university at an undergraduate or graduate level or an active military service member seeking a

- Demonstrated interest in the assigned field through coursework, academic projects, volunteer activities, or prior internship experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail.
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$16.35 - $23.08. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Sentara Independence provides quality outpatient services to the surrounding community. The facility includes an ambulance-accessible emergency room that is supported by board-certified physicians. Sentara Independence houses state-of-the-art medical equipment and highly-skilled physicians and staff. Sentara Independence is now an extension of the quality services at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital including advanced imaging and physical therapy.
