About the role 

This Process Development Engineer role is a great opportunity for someone who is ready to flex their design muscle through drafting, building, and optimizing manufacturing equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and test systems. As an intermediate/senior level, you will have a wider scope and lead role in transferring product design into relevant manufacturing processes and equipment that builds products which has a profound effect on people’s lives daily. 

You’ll collaborate with teams and external partners to ensure products meet regulatory, quality, and performance requirements. As well as ensure feasibility through validation and risk management for commercial readiness.  

About you  

We are looking for someone with a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree that has at least 5 years' experience in a process, manufacturing, development, automation, or equipment engineering role. 

You are described as a practical, hands-on, team player that loves to get involved with a problem. You enjoy technical investigations, finding the root cause and can translate this well in your technical documentation work.  

Ideally you have worked in the medical device field or at least a similar regulated industry. Someone of your level would likely have experience with automation, controls, sensors, vision systems, or machine design.

Skills Required

  • Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in process, manufacturing, development, automation, or equipment engineering
  • Hands-on practical engineering skills including drafting, building, and optimising equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and test systems
  • Technical investigations, root cause analysis, and strong technical documentation skills
  • Experience with automation, controls, sensors, vision systems, or machine design
  • Experience in medical device or other regulated industry
  • Existing New Zealand working rights
