LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote-friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in Latin America, preferably working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) or PT (Pacific Timezone).
Candidates located in Santiago, Chile are able to work out of our Santiago office as remote/hybrid employees. Candidates located outside of Santiago, Chile will be fully remote employees.
THE ROLE:

Then you may be ready to take on the overall responsibility of an Intermediate QA Automation Engineer at Apply Digital.
As an Intermediate QA Automation Engineer within Apply Digital, you will help contribute to the overall company strategy by validating that the application meets design specifications and requirements. This includes iOS applications, Android applications, Web applications, Voice Recognition, AR, IoT, and other digital-to-human interfaces. The products should be tested for functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with the supported devices, browsers, and user interfaces.
ABOUT YOU
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
- You have 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- You have strong experience with scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, TypeScript) and with automation frameworks (i.e. Cypress, Appium, Webdriver.io)
- You have a clear understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- You have a solid understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.
- You have exposure to CI/CD principles and incorporating QA best practices into CI/CD pipelines
- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You’re self-driven and take ownership of tasks from beginning to completion
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are able to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- You are detail-oriented, incredibly meticulous, and you enjoy the fine attention to detail required to spot, prevent, and troubleshoot any issues before our clients find them
- You have experience creating and maintaining test automation scripts (optional)
- Experience within the Telecommunication industry is an asset
ABOUT THE JOB
- Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborating with the project team and senior quality engineers to define test objectives, test strategies, and test plans. Contributing to the creation of test documentation, such as test cases, test scripts, and test data, ensuring comprehensive coverage of system functionality.
- Test Execution and Defect Management: Conducting thorough test execution activities (automated and manual), including functional, regression, and integration testing. Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects using dedicated tools or defect-tracking systems. Collaborating with developers to ensure timely resolution of issues and retesting of fixed defects.
- Test Automation Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks. Collaborating with senior quality engineers and developers to enhance test automation coverage, maximize efficiency, and improve test execution speed. Assisting in incorporating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Test Data Management: Managing and maintaining test data repositories, ensuring the availability of relevant and accurate test data sets for testing purposes. Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and prepare appropriate test data, covering various scenarios and edge cases.
- Test Environment Setup and Management: Setting up and configuring test environments, including hardware, software, network, and database configurations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure proper environment readiness and to identify any necessary dependencies or prerequisites.
- Performance and Load Testing: Assisting in planning and conducting performance and load tests to assess software scalability, reliability, and response times. Analyzing and documenting test results, identifying performance bottlenecks, and recommending improvements to enhance system performance.
- Test Metrics and Reporting: Collecting, analyzing, and reporting relevant test metrics and KPIs to measure test execution progress, defect trends, and overall test coverage. Assisting in the preparation of test summary reports and providing regular updates to project stakeholders regarding the status of testing activities.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Actively participating in process improvements and suggesting ideas to enhance testing practices, techniques, and methodologies. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in testing tools, and emerging best practices to continuously improve the quality assurance process.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders. Assisting junior team members and offering mentorship to support their growth and development in the field of software quality assurance.
- Quality Advocacy: Promoting a culture of quality within the organization, emphasizing the importance of quality assurance practices and customer-centric testing approaches. Actively participating in QA and agile ceremonies, sharing knowledge, and fostering a collaborative environment.
