Who are we looking for?
Our Southern Ontario offices of Whitby, Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, and St. Catherines are looking for an Intermediate Bridge Engineer ready to join our growing Canadian Operations within the Transportation Group. This role is intended for intermediate Bridge CAD technicians looking to continue their career in the design of transportation structures for municipalities, MTO, IO, and major transportation partners.

This role can be based in any of our GTA offices - Toronto, Mississauga, Markham or Whitby as well as Waterloo office.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Successful participation in, and completion of multi-disciplined bridge projects, rail bridges, and complex design
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff
- Collaboration in small and large teams. Leading the integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables
- Production of conceptual design, detailed design, technical specifications, cost, and schedule estimating
- Working within various procurement models and roles.
- Preparation of reports, and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public
- Maintaining contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients
- Exposure to project planning, development, and monitoring of project schedules, and budgets
What you will bring to the team:
- Ontario P.Eng. designation required.
- 6+ years of experience in design and engineering of bridge projects.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), Ontario design standards (i.e., OPSS), and client specific standards and requirements (i.e., MTO)
- Experience with Midas Civil or SAP2000 modelling software
- Metrolinx and AREMA experience is an asset
- CN Rail, CP Rail, and MTO experience are considered an asset.
- Experience in structure inspections in accordance with the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is $74 025 to $120 000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
