About the Role:


The Intermediate Digital Product Designer role is a mid-level position within the design team, responsible for creating moderately complex product designs and refining existing ones. This role requires a design background, good problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Design work

Create moderately complex product designs, refine existing ones, and contribute to user interface and user experience enhancements.

Assist with the development and refinement of more complex designs, such as user interfaces, under the guidance of more experienced designers.

Learning and Skill Development

Actively participate in design workshops, training sessions, and team meetings.

Seek feedback from more experienced designers and incorporate it to improve performance and skills.

Continuously develop design skills and adapt to new tools and techniques as required.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging design tools and techniques.

Design Reviews and Collaboration

Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.

Collaborate with team members, contributing to planning, estimation, prioritisation and completion of tasks.

Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment of design goals with overall project objectives.

Provide support to less experienced designers, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Process and Methodology Adherence

Follow established design standards and guidelines to create clean, user-friendly, and efficient designs.

Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices.

Quality Assurance

Assist in identifying and resolving issues in the design work.

Ensure design quality by conducting thorough feedback, validation and usability testing.

About You:

You are passionate about wanting to build apps and you want to reach millions with your code, and essentially improve the quality of users experiences with your solutions. Core Education and Experience:

 

Tertiary qualification in Human Computer Interaction, Design, Interaction Design, or related fields: A qualification in these fields will provide the foundational knowledge necessary to design effective user interfaces.

 3 - 5 years of work experience creating great user interface designs: This experience should demonstrate a good understanding of design principles and best practices, as well as the ability to design interfaces that meet user needs.

 Practical experience in Sketch, Figma, or similar design-related tools.

Experience and knowledge of Apple and Google Interface guidelines: Understanding the design guidelines of these major operating systems is crucial for designing interfaces that are familiar and intuitive to users.

A good track record and portfolio of projects where you have performed a similar role: A strong portfolio that showcases successful projects, with clean designs will demonstrate a designer's ability to create effective and engaging interfaces.

Skills Required
