At Aucerna we are transforming the way our clients make planning and execution decisions in the dynamic oil and gas industry. Our London development team is looking for developers who are inspired by challenge.
What We Will Do Together
Working within a Scrum-based team, you will be writing code for Aucerna’s next generation corporate planning solutions, which support strategic decision making and capital planning in the oil and gas industry.
You will solve complex problems, innovate and be part of a team that is going to leverage cloud platforms, orchestration tools, and containerization.
As we pursue a cloud-native strategy we are evolving existing enterprise applications to multi-tenanted, scalable SaaS apps. In parallel ,Windows Desktop (WPF) front-ends will be replaced with HTML5/JS web applications with .NET CORE WebAPIs on the back-end. Tasks will range from building JavaScript SPAs using modern frameworks, middle-tier business logic on server side using C#, and profiling and optimising SQL Server performance.
We will foster an environment where you will share your knowledge and those around you will too. We think it’s important for you to grow and provide dedicated support to help you get there.
We will focus on quality in our products with techniques like SOLID principles, pair programming, peer reviews, TDD, unit and integration testing.
Things to Consider
You should have a strong foundation in Enterprise application (back-end and Web API) development using .NET C# (ideally) or Java, and front-end development in JavaScript. Any more languages than that are a bonus.
Our applications handle large volumes of data – you will consider performance and resilience in all development work.

You have kept up to date on new technologies including cloud-based platforms. You might have experience with tools and platforms like Docker, Azure and Kubernetes to deliver hosted application. If you don’t, you are excited and ready to figure it out.

Skills Required
- Enterprise back-end and Web API development using .NET C#
- Front-end development in JavaScript and HTML5
- Experience profiling and optimising SQL Server performance
