Basic-Fit is growing rapidly, and our Finance department is going through various exciting projects and changes, from process improvements to the integration of our latest acquisition, Clever Fit. We're looking for a senior finance manager to help guide our Financial Control team through the next phase of our Finance Transformation journey!

This Is What Your Role Looks Like 

As Interim Manager Financial Control you'll be leading our Financial Control team (16 FTE), a talented international group of quick-thinking financial professionals who generate high-quality reports while working closely with the business. You work from our international HQ in Hoofddorp and have full responsibility for the output of the Financial Control team. You will have 3 direct reports, and you will report directly to the Finance Director.  

 

Following Basic-Fit’s recent auditor rotation after 10 years, the upcoming external audit will be a critical priority. In this role, you will take clear ownership of leading the audit process from the Financial Control side: coordinating the team, acting as the main counterpart for the auditors, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of audit requests, and proactively managing risks to support a smooth audit with no major findings. 

 

You focus on further shaping the Financial Control team as a lean and efficient team, by ensuring continued standardization and optimization of processes. Meanwhile you make sure that our monthly figures are in top shape and ready for audit. 

 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Lead a team of 16 FTE with 3 direct reports. 

  • Take ownership of our monthly reporting figures, making sure they are delivered complete, correct and within the established closing deadlines. 

  • Ensure that processes and activities that are run by the team are further standardized and automated. 

  • Take core responsibility for leading the external audit process, acting as the main counterpart for the auditors and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of all audit requests. 

  • Sign off on reconciliations and lead schedules for balance sheet and P&L accounts. 

  • Take part in company-wide projects and ensure correct and efficient implementation of financial processes for innovations and new business models. 

  • Analyze business processes, signal risks, and implement process improvements. 

  • Proactively pursue business issues that impact the general ledger and evaluate acceptable solutions. 

  • Take ownership of part of the Internal Control Framework related to the Financial Control processes. 

 

Who Are You? 

You're an initiative-taker and problem solver; accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment. You manage to get the best out of the people that you lead. You take ownership and aren't afraid to flag issues and drive change. 

 

Additionally, we're looking for someone with: 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, ideally supplemented by a postgraduate RA/RC qualification or equivalent. 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar complex, high-volume IFRS accounting environment 

  • Proven track record in managing and developing Financial Control teams 

  • Proven experience leading the external audit process for a listed company, acting as the primary contact and driving timely delivery across the organization. 

  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus. 

  • Ability to interact with all departments and levels across the organization. 

  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA Public Cloud and/or LucaNet is a plus.
