BaxterStorey has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and commercially minded Interim Learning & Development Manager to support capability, leadership, hospitality, and performance across the business during a key period of delivery. This national role, based in London/Reading, will suit an experienced L&D professional who can quickly build credibility, work at pace, and deliver high-impact learning solutions that support operational excellence, leadership capability, and business priorities.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery capability and can add value from day one. You will lead and progress priority learning initiatives, partner with senior stakeholders, and bring structure, pace, and practical solutions to the L&D agenda. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex, multi-site environment and will have a strong track record of designing and implementing development activity that aligns to both commercial and people priorities.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic and operational L&D support during a key period of business delivery.
  • Lead and progress priority learning initiatives aligned to leadership, hospitality, management, and operational capability.
  • Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify needs and implement practical, high-impact learning solutions.
  • Drive pace and momentum across learning projects, ensuring strong delivery and stakeholder confidence.
  • Use data, feedback, and insight to evaluate impact and inform continuous improvement.
  • Support a positive learning culture by embedding development opportunities across the business.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Learning & Development, Training or People Development role, ideally within hospitality or another fast-paced, service-led environment.
  • Experience stepping into roles quickly and building credibility with stakeholders at pace.
  • Strong track record of delivering practical, high-impact learning solutions that support business priorities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on delivery with longer-term capability goals.
  • Confident facilitator and stakeholder manager with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across a complex, multi-site business.
  • CIPD or relevant L&D qualification is desirable.
