Responsible for the supervisory and general operational functions at one or several locations: Albany Memorial, Samaritan, St. Mary’s Campus or St. Peter’s Hospital. These responsibilities include organizing and coordinating the day to day laboratory services at the specified site to include: staffing, scheduling, training, timely test performance, budgeting, materials management, performance appraisals and overall oversight of the specified site’s test menu and turnaround times. In addition, the Supervisor will work very closely with the SPHP Manager of each clinical section/site location to assist in coordinating daily activities. Duties are to be done in such a manner as to apply and contribute to the St. Peter’s Health Partners mission and values.
Education Requirements:
1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and certificate from a school of medical technology, or any other culmination meeting supervisory qualifications of the NYS Department of Health.
2. Prefer certification by a nationally recognized clinical laboratory certifying agency.
3. Hold a valid New York State License from the Department of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT).
Experience Requirements:
1. Six years laboratory experience required.
2. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
3. Familiar with technology related to practice in assigned section.
