Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Interim (6 Months) Business Data Insight Analyst for our corporate Somerville, MA office.  

The Business Data Insight Analyst (Interim) is responsible for providing immediate analytical support across ERP and other business applications, with a focus on stabilizing reporting, improving dashboard visibility, validating data quality, and helping leaders interpret business performance.

This interim role is designed for a candidate who can ramp quickly, work hands-on with business and transactional data, and deliver practical reporting and insight within a defined six-month period. The emphasis is on near-term execution, trusted reporting, and building a stronger foundation for ongoing analytics capability.

This position reports to either the Chief Financial Officer or VP Finance Planning & Analysts

Primary Objectives for the First 6 Months:

  • Assess current reporting, dashboards, and KPI outputs and identify the most important gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Stabilize recurring management reporting and improve confidence in core business metrics.
  • Build or refine dashboards and reports that improve visibility into operational and financial performance.
  • Validate key data feeds and reconcile reporting outputs across ERP and related systems where needed.
  • Support business stakeholders with ad hoc analysis and data interpretation during the interim period.
  • Document definitions, logic, assumptions, and reporting processes to leave behind a more sustainable reporting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Insight Generation:

  • Analyze data from ERP and other business systems to identify trends, issues, variances, and performance drivers.
  • Translate business questions into structured analysis, dashboards, and reporting outputs.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support near-term management decisions during the interim period.
  • Interpret transactional and operational data in a way that is clear and useful to non-technical stakeholders.

Reporting and Dashboard Support:

  • Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, KPI reports, and recurring management reporting.
  • Prioritize quick-win reporting improvements that increase visibility and reduce manual effort.
  • Help standardize report outputs and improve consistency across key business metrics.
  • Ensure reports are timely, accurate, and aligned to agreed definitions.

ERP and Business Systems Support:

  • Work with data from ERP and related business applications to support reporting and analysis needs.
  • Assist with reconciling data across multiple systems and reporting sources.
  • Help users understand what data is available from core business systems and how it flows into reporting.
  • Support basic documentation of data sources, definitions, and reporting logic.

Data Quality and Validation:

  • Perform data validation and quality checks on reports, dashboards, and key datasets.
  • Identify data quality issues and escalate or partner with system owners to resolve them.
  • Improve trust in reporting through disciplined review, reconciliation, and exception analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, HR, IT, and other functions to gather requirements and support business priorities.
  • Communicate findings and analytical conclusions in a clear, business-focused way.
  • Help bridge the gap between technical analysis and practical business use.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, or related field required. Master’s degree in analytics or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience with dashboarding, business reporting, and working with transactional or operational data preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP or enterprise systems is helpful but not required.
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools. Familiarity with Python, R, or other analytical tools is a plus.
  • Comfort working with multiple datasets and performing basic reconciliation and validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; attention to detail; clear communication.
  • Willingness to learn business processes quickly; ability to work independently in a time-bound interim assignment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship 
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
