KBR is seeking an experienced Interface Management Lead to develop, maintain, and lead the project interface management plan.  This role is accountable to the project management lead for identifying all internal and external project interfaces, defining the interface ownership accountability, and maintaining the interface registers and tracking systems.  The Interface Management Lead acts as the project authority for interface identification, ownership assignment, escalation, and closure management across all participating organizations. 


Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:   

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project Interface Management Plan, including processes, procedures, tools, and governance frameworks to support integrated project execution. 
  • Identify, document, and manage technical, organizational, construction, commissioning, and operational interfaces across all project phases, ensuring clear ownership and accountability. 
  • Lead interface coordination activities between engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, validation, quality, and operations teams to ensure alignment of project objectives and deliverables. 
  • Facilitate interface meetings, workshops, and stakeholder reviews, driving timely resolution of interface issues and tracking action items through closure. 
  • Establish and maintain the project interface register, ensuring all interface risks, dependencies, constraints, and decisions are accurately documented and communicated. 
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, technology licensors, client representatives, and third-party stakeholders to manage cross-organizational interfaces and mitigate execution risks. 
  • Support schedule integration by identifying interface-driven critical path activities, monitoring milestones, and working with project controls teams to resolve potential impacts to project delivery. 
  • Coordinate external interfaces with regulatory agencies, utilities, local authorities, and inspection organizations to ensure alignment with project milestones and readiness objectives. 
  • Lead management of interfaces between project delivery teams and operational readiness, manufacturing, quality, validation, and startup organizations. 
  • Develop and maintain digital interface management systems and reporting tools to improve visibility, accountability, and closure performance. 
  • Ensure all interface management activities comply with project governance requirements, GMP standards, quality systems, regulatory expectations, and company procedures applicable to pharmaceutical facilities. 
  • Prepare and present interface management reports, KPIs, risk assessments, and executive-level updates to project leadership, providing clear visibility of interface performance, emerging risks, and mitigation strategies. 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or project management.   
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience. 
  • Minimum 10 years of project/program experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine, sterile manufacturing, API, or advanced therapy facilities.  
  • Experience on capital project exceeding $500MM TIC.    
  • Experience successfully managing the interface and communications for large multidisciplinary teams and contractors. 
  • Strong knowledge of communications, governance, project controls, design management, and project delivery processes. 

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:  

  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other GMP-regulated facilities. 
  • Prior experience in an Owner’s Representative or PMC role for major capital projects in excess of $1B TIC. 
  • PE, PMP, and/or ISPE certification.   
  • PMC/Owner Representative experience, successful FDA inspection support, and/or  greenfield pharmaceutical project experience.
