Interface Development Expert (multiple positions)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, develop, and implement new software functionality as defined by internal and external customer demands for port terminal operations;
  • Support creation of system design and technical specifications for software.
  • Responsible for product management, development and integration elements including but not limited to: overall plan, execution, scope, cost, work schedule, design and build, vendor relations and contractual deliverables for own work stream of a project by leveraging areas of expertise.
  • Lead product development or parts of projects and services within one or more technical disciplines.
  • Manage functional design reviews and drive equipment control simulations/emulations based on defined equipment kinematics, functional requirements and performance metrics.
  • Develop department objectives throughout the duration of the project by leveraging own areas of expertise.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate interrelated design and assure project requirements are met and overall project completion, ensure consistent project status reporting.
  • Support creation and strategy of software operational modules to enable modular retrofitting of state-of-the-art operations technology in existing global portfolio of terminals.
  • Conduct technical interface design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring technical integration with all designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
  • Ensure that modernized systems and equipment and related documentation comply with contractual requirements, local standards and regulations (especially safety-related functions).
  • Implement and validate the Technical/Technology Integration Framework and functional requirements for terminal modernization.

Working Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or in a product management role for port terminal operations.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in each:
  • 1) utilizing equipment sensor systems and equipment controls
  • 2) performing enterprise resource planning, (ERP) software development, program logic control (PLC) development, terminal operations systems (TOS) development, and automated gate operating system (GOS)
  • 3) Terminal systems interface and integration: TOS and automated equipment control systems (GOS, Crane OCR, Remote RTG, Automated RTG, Automated Straddle Carrier, Automated Prime Mover)
  • 4) Linux, Red Hat Linux, Fuse, Java, C++, C#, XML, Groovy, ActiveMQ and MQTT for integrated interface development and testing
  • 5) Conducting interface design, integration design, and process improvement for software functionality.
