Position Overview

This role is based in Santa Clara, CA. In alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

The Interconnection & MMR Manager oversees interconnection operations across all Vantage North American campuses. This includes managing Meet Me Rooms (MMRs), cross-connects, carrier coordination, access control, and interconnection capacity. The role ensures efficient, secure, and compliant connectivity for customers while supporting sales and operational teams in delivering exceptional interconnection services.

Essential Job Functions

MMR & Interconnection Operations

  • Manage MMRs across North America, overseeing fiber, copper, and coax cross-connect installations.

  • Maintain accurate interconnection documentation and capacity tracking.

  • Ensure timely provisioning, testing, and activation of interconnection services.

Access & Security Management

  • Oversee MMR access control and enforce security standards with the security team.

  • Maintain access logs and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.

Carrier & Customer Coordination

  • Serve as the primary contact for carriers, ISPs, and enterprise clients regarding interconnections.

  • Collaborate with sales and support teams to address customer needs and resolve connectivity issues.

Collaboration with Operations & Construction

  • Partner with site operations and construction teams on MMR expansion, cabling, and capacity planning.

  • Ensure interconnection work aligns with infrastructure and maintenance schedules.

Network Planning & Optimization

  • Monitor interconnection capacity and recommend upgrades to meet demand.

  • Work with the network team to optimize traffic flows, redundancy, and performance.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, SLAs, and Vantage security policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of interconnections, requests, and agreements.

Sales Support

  • Support the Senior Director, Enterprise & Carrier Sales – NA, in client discussions.

  • Provide technical insights and assist in designing interconnection solutions.

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong understanding of interconnections, cross-connects, and data center networking.

  • Experience with fiber optics, Ethernet, BGP, MPLS, and carrier networking.

  • Familiarity with MMR operations and colocation environments.

  • Experience managing access controls and coordinating with security teams.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

  • Availability for on-call support during critical issues.
