Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, management, selection of interventions, required procedures, and consistent evaluation of the patient’s progress towards goals. Ownership of patients with complex medical conditions, and will manage all aspects of care, which include but not limited to: fluid resuscitation, antibiotic stewardship, hemodynamic management, interpretation of invasive/non-invasive hemodynamic parameters, management of ventilator modes, and strategies of Critical Care services. These services will provide safe, efficient, resource-conscious qualities, culminating in exemplary patient care. To that end, the Intensivist APP will be expected to participate in activities and programs which will enhance the goals and mission of the Onslow Memorial Hospital system. Furthermore, will be expected to encourage clinical staff to maintain the same standards.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- NPs - Graduation from ANA accredited graduate school of nursing and completed an accredited certificate or Masters of Science in Nursing, Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner / Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Certified AGNP or FNP by the ANCC or the AANP. Current North Carolina RN and NP License. Strong Acute Care skills required.
- PAs - Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant Program. Current unrestricted license to practice as PA in North Carolina. For purposes of the OMH Medical Staff By-laws, Physician Assistants are considered dependent-practice allied health professionals and are credentialed through medical staff processes.
- BLS upon hire.
- ACLS within 6 months.
Experience:
- One year of clinical experience in area of clinical specialty preferred. New graduates require Internship Program.
