  • Develop and configure interfaces using HL7 standards to enable healthcare data interoperability between VA systems, ensuring accurate and secure exchange of patient and operational data.
  • Lead the integration of Salesforce-based solutions (e.g., CRM, custom apps) with legacy systems and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), supporting VA’s operational and customer service needs.
  • Engineer solutions using InterSystems IRIS to process, store, and integrate complex datasets, optimizing performance and scalability for VA corporate services.
  • Collaborate with Solution Leads, Data Architects, and DevOps teams to embed integrations into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Agile workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with VA security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, HIPAA), implementing secure data flows and access controls across integrated systems.
  • Utilize VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow) to document integration designs, track progress, and contribute to Biweekly Status Reports on integration status and issues.
  • Provide technical leadership during Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives), aligning integration efforts with the VIP Lean-Agile framework and sprint deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to VA operations and high availability of interconnected systems.
  • Support the adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., APIs, microservices, AI-driven integrations) to enhance VA OIT’s modernization and interoperability goals.
  • Work with VA stakeholders, including the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), to define integration requirements, validate solutions, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Mentor team members on Salesforce administration, HL7 integration, and IRIS development best practices, contributing to Trilogy’s staff development and technical excellence initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • One of the following Salesforce certifications required: Salesforce Certified Administrator OR Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder; plus HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Interface Specialist Certification and InterSystems IRIS Core Solutions Developer Specialist Certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, interface development, or a related role, with a focus on federal, VA, or healthcare IT environments.

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex integrations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with VA security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, HIPAA) and the VIP Lean-Agile framework is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow).
