Integration Lead

We are looking for an experienced Integration Lead to own the design, implementation, and delivery of integrations across internal platforms, external vendors, and enterprise systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role — we need someone who can drive the integration strategy and lead engineering teams, but can also step in and personally design, implement, troubleshoot, and validate APIs and integrations when needed.

What You'll Do
  • Own enterprise integrations end-to-end, from initial design through implementation and production support
  • Design and implement REST and SOAP APIs
  • Work with API gateways, including routing, authentication, security policies, and rate limiting
  • Design secure integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SSO
  • Build and support event-driven and asynchronous integrations using MQ/messaging technologies
  • Integrate modern applications with legacy systems, databases, Salesforce, external vendors, and third-party platforms
  • Support SFTP, EDI, and other file-based integrations
  • Work with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases to validate data and troubleshoot integration issues
  • Lead integration strategy while coordinating developers, vendors, application teams, and other technical stakeholders
  • Manage technical dependencies and drive integrations through successful delivery
  • Troubleshoot production issues across multiple systems and determine where failures are occurring
  • Define and negotiate API contracts with internal teams and external partners
  • Create and maintain integration documentation, including API specifications, data mappings, and sequence diagrams
  • Review and validate integrations developed by other engineers and step in to implement solutions when needed
What We're Looking For
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise APIs and integrations
  • Strong REST API experience; SOAP experience preferred
  • Experience with Kong API Gateway or comparable platforms such as Apigee, MuleSoft API Manager, IBM DataPower/API Connect, WSO2, or Azure/AWS API Gateway
  • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, and API security
  • Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging/event-driven technologies
  • Experience integrating across multiple enterprise applications and third-party/vendor systems
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL
  • Experience with SFTP/EDI or other file-based integration patterns
  • Strong production troubleshooting and incident-management skills
  • Ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on enough to personally implement and validate integrations
  • Strong communication skills and experience working across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
Nice to Have
  • Salesforce integration experience
  • Okta/SSO experience
  • Insurance or financial-services experience
  • Experience with legacy-to-modern integration environments
  • Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar API development/testing tools
The Type of Person We're Looking For

This isn't a pure architect role where you design a solution and hand it off to developers. It's also not a heads-down developer position.

We're looking for someone who can own the integration strategy, lead the teams involved, manage dependencies and drive delivery — while still being technical enough to open their laptop, jump into an API or integration, and implement or troubleshoot it themselves when needed.

What We Do

When clients come to us for product design and development, they get a full range of technical expertise and laboratory resources, but they also get a team that’s relentless when it comes to solving problems and creating designs that are the ideal combination of function and form. What does that mean? We build tools that save lives. For surgeons, it means they have tools that not only address but anticipate their needs, which helps improve their patients’ outcomes. We create products that save money and ensure safety. For people juggling family, work, and other demands, it means they have products that provide real help in managing their everyday lives. And for businesses, it means their bottom line is supported with durable tools that improve efficiency and protect their teams. From concept to production plan, or at any phase in between, we are a partner that can extend your product development know-how or provide additional mindpower to free up in-house teams.
