ABOUT THE ROLE

Be a part of our Martin family! Martin Equipment is seeking an Integrated Technology Specialist to support GNSS machine control and other machine technology solutions across our Missouri territory. This is a hands‑on, field‑focused technical role working directly with customers, operators, and our Machine Sales Group to ensure successful deployment and use of John Deere SmartGrade, Trimble Earthworks, Leica iCON, and Topcon 3D‑MC systems. The right candidate enjoys working with heavy equipment, solving technical problems, supporting customers on active jobsites, and learning advanced construction technology solutions.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Integrated Technology Specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting integrated technology solutions on heavy equipment. This includes performing system calibrations, resolving hardware and software issues, and helping operators understand how to use the technologies effectively. Success in this role requires a blend of mechanical aptitude, basic electrical skills, computer comfort, customer service, and construction jobsite knowledge. The Specialist will often work independently at active construction sites and must represent Martin Equipment professionally while ensuring support is completed safely and correctly. This position is based out of our Columbia or Palmyra, MO stores and supports customers throughout our Missouri territories.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, and calibrate machine control and other technology solutions on construction equipment
  • Perform diagnostics, software updates, hardware checks, and field troubleshooting
  • Assist with wiring, mounting, sensor placement, displays, antennas, and cabling
  • Train equipment operators and site personnel on system use, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure installations meet Martin Equipment standards
  • Document installation details, equipment information, site conditions, and adjustments made
  • Communicate clearly with customers, operators, and internal teams regarding installation status and support needs
  • Coordinate with technology partners (Trimble, Leica, Topcon) to resolve complex issues
  • Provide field feedback on system performance, customer usage, and recurring issues
  • Maintain tools, testing equipment, parts, and service vehicles in clean working condition
  • Follow all Martin Equipment safety expectations and customer job‑site safety requirements
  • As needed, prepare quotes and factory orders for machine technologies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around heavy equipment
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (wiring, sensors, connections, power sources)
  • Experience with heavy equipment, construction, GPS systems, machine control, surveying, or related field work
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, diagrams, and installation guides
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, and diagnostic software
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and ability to support customers on active job sites
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing field conditions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Trimble, Leica, Topcon, or John Deere machine control systems
  • Background in earthmoving, grading, construction, surveying, field service, or equipment installation
  • Experience as a mechanic, equipment technician, survey tech, grade checker, field engineer, or construction technology technician
  • OSHA 10/30 or other safety certifications
  • Technical training in electronics, mechanics, construction technology, surveying, or GPS systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb on and around heavy equipment safely
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and use hand tools on active construction sites
  • Willingness to wear required PPE and follow all job‑site safety rules

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

  • Field‑based role with regular travel to customer job sites
  • Exposure to weather, dust, noise, and active construction environments
  • Approximately 50% travel, including occasional overnight stays
