Description

This role is responsible for leading the definition and development of fully integrated training solutions for complex defense sector opportunities, from early customer engagement through proposal development and contract award.

  • Lead the definition of fully integrated training solutions from the early stages of customer interactions (pre-RFP), through Capture and Proposal phases, to contract award.

  • Serve as the primary focal point and Design Authority for training solutions with internal stakeholders, customers, and end-user communities.

  • Participate in training product research and development roadmap activities to identify strategies that address current and future customer training requirements using effective learning methodologies and tools.

  • Provide leadership to matrix teams supporting large Training System Integration (TSI) opportunities.

  • Direct Training Task Analysis, Training Needs Analysis, Training Media Analysis, and Curriculum Design activities in collaboration with technical leads, learning specialists, subject matter experts, and customer representatives.

  • Leverage internal technologies, standard products, and subcontractor capabilities to design integrated training solutions.

  • Utilize modern tools and multidisciplinary teams to develop training solutions in accordance with applicable training development processes.

  • Collaborate with System Architects to ensure training requirements are clearly defined and traceable to engineering and courseware requirements, including verification and validation criteria.

  • Partner with Program Management to develop execution strategies for major opportunities, including make-versus-buy analysis, strategic partner selection, workshare definitions, and in-country requirements.

  • Prepare and deliver solution reviews that communicate technical, programmatic, and commercial strategies to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate and validate cost estimates and risk analyses from multiple stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with training solution design, deployment, and delivery.

  • Interface with customers and end users throughout business development and capture activities.

  • Support major defense programs involving training system design and delivery, including initiatives such as Future Aircrew Training (FACT), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), and Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR).

  • Contribute to the identification, development, and pursuit of opportunities from initial concept through contract award.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of related experience in industry and/or military service.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience developing and/or delivering training programs in operational and/or maintenance environments within the defense sector.

  • Relevant post-secondary diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience leading large training development, training integration, engineering, or complex program initiatives.

  • Experience leading matrix teams in multidisciplinary environments.

  • Knowledge of training development methodologies and processes.

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to develop capture strategies, proposal content, and value propositions for competitive pursuits.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to work within complex stakeholder environments.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering development processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and multiple priorities.

  • Availability to travel internationally as required (up to approximately 20%).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Canadian and NATO Secret Security Clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Canadian Armed Forces experience.

  • Military experience in instructional, aircrew, land, sea, air operations, or military training environments.

  • Experience supporting defense acquisition, training system integration, or large-scale capability development programs.

  • Experience with large project or program management activities.

  • Bilingualism (English/French).

  • Knowledge of the organization's training solutions approach, modeling, and simulation systems.

  • Experience working with strategic partners, subcontractors, and integrated defense solutions.
