Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Outfitting and Configuration Specialist

Location: Work is performed on-site at the Austal USA Shipyard, 100 Austal Way, Mobile, AL 36602

Position Summary:

This role provides on-site Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), outfitting, and configuration management expertise to the U.S. Coast Guard's Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) Program Office at the Austal USA shipyard. The ILS Specialist prepares outfitting and configuration management materials for project reviews, participates in outfitting of material aboard the cutter, and participates in Physical Configuration Audits (PCA). The position supports the OPC Program Office in tracking cutter outfitting status, generating ad-hoc outfitting reports, and ensuring configuration integrity from build through delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare outfitting and configuration management materials — charts, briefs, and decision documents — for Project reviews

• Generate ad-hoc outfitting reports as requested by the OPC Program Office

• Participate in outfitting of material aboard the cutter

• Participate in Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) of the OPC

• Attend meetings in support of assigned ILS tasks as designated by the COR

• Prepare and present outfitting and PCA status presentations

• Track equipment validation, storeroom placements, VIN marking, and product tracking activities

• Identify and document logistics impacts and recommend corrective action

• Coordinate with shipbuilder, USCG, and supply chain partners on outfitting issues, equipment availability, and configuration changes

• Provide weekly status updates to the Project Manager for invoice validation and contract reporting

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

•**Active Secret-level security clearance required**

• Bachelor's Degree in a business field or related technical/business field from an accredited institution; substitution: a minimum of four (4) additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree

• At least three (3) years of experience relevant to supporting logistics or configuration and shipbuilding processes

• Comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding processes — Technical Assessment Review (TAR), proposal development, equipment life cycle cost, logistics life cycle sustainment, and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) processes

• Comprehensive knowledge of Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) processes

• Comprehensive knowledge of ship outfitting / load-out

• Comprehensive knowledge of Configuration Management

• Comprehensive knowledge of Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)

• Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods to organize, plan, conduct, evaluate, and administer outfitting and configuration programs

• Experience with vessel outfitting, equipment validation, storeroom placements, VIN marking, product tracking, and logistic impacts

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior ILS, outfitting, or configuration experience on a USCG or U.S. Navy shipbuilding program

• DAU certifications in Life Cycle Logistics or related fields

• Experience supporting OPC, NSC, FFG, DDG, LCS, T-AO, or similar shipbuilding programs

• Familiarity with USCG / Navy supply systems and outfitting databases

• Familiarity with the Major System Acquisition Manual (MSAM)

Other Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship required

• Must obtain a DHS Common Access Card (CAC)

• Must execute DHS Non-Disclosure Agreement (DHS Form 11000-6) as a condition of employment

• Position requires moderate walking and movement through an active shipyard and OPCs under construction

• Work is performed on-site at the OPC Program Office in Mobile, AL

This is primarily a work-from-home position, with some travel to Corporate Office area as needed.
