As a function in the Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) group within Pfizer, Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) plays a critical role to enable Pfizer's commercial brand strategy. This team functions as internal consultants and brand strategists that partner with commercial and cross-functional leaders, activating data driven problem solving in a way that the business can execute to drive impact and unlock value.
The IIS Lead - India is a director-level role that sets the vision and direction for the India IIS team and serves as the primary analytics and insights partner to India commercial leadership. This leader will shape brand and portfolio strategy, inform investment and resource allocation decisions, and lead performance measurement and forecasting for inline and launch brands across the India business. The role owns the India analytics and insights agenda, from prioritization and budget to delivery and business impact. It calls for a senior strategic thinker, a trusted advisor to senior leaders, and an inspiring people leader who builds future-ready capabilities, including advanced analytics and AI.
The IIS Lead - India is the strategic analytics and insights leader for the India business. Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
Strategic Insights Leadership & Business Partnership
• \tServe as a trusted advisor to India commercial leadership and Business Unit (BU)/franchise heads, shaping brand, portfolio and launch strategies with data-driven recommendations
• \tSet the India analytics and insights agenda and a multi-year roadmap, putting resources toward the work with the greatest business impact
• \tTurn complex research and analytics into clear, compelling recommendations that drive senior leadership decisions
People Leadership & Team Development
• \tLead, coach and develop the India IIS team, setting clear direction, priorities and performance expectations
• \tBuild a high-performing, inclusive culture that values curiosity, collaboration, accountability and business impact
• \tOwn talent strategy, including hiring, succession planning, performance management and career development
• \tPlan team capacity and the resource model, including contractors and vendor partners, to meet changing business needs
Market and Brand Analytics
• \tOversee the design and delivery of integrated analytics and research plans that use the full range of GCA capabilities: secondary data, advanced analytics/data science and primary market research (PMR)
• \tGuide promotional investment through customer analytics, segmentation and targeting, field force sizing and omnichannel optimization
• \tChampion the use of advanced analytics, AI/machine learning and new data sources to strengthen Pfizer's competitive advantage
Performance Management/Forecasting/Operating Plan
• \tOwn the performance measurement framework for the India portfolio, proactively identifying performance drivers, risks and growth opportunities
• \tLead forecasting and scenario planning for the Long Range Forecast (LRF) and operating plans, informing investment and resource allocation decisions
• \tAnticipate market and competitive shifts and recommend strategic responses
PMR Management
• \tSet the PMR strategy for India so research investments are well prioritized, innovative and deliver actionable insights
• \tOwn the analytics and research budget and vendor partnerships, ensuring value for money
• \tBe accountable for meeting corporate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and compliance requirements for all primary market research
Enterprise Collaboration & GCA Leadership
• \tRepresent India within the GCA and Emerging Markets Asia analytics network, helping develop regional and global capabilities and scale them
• \tLead alignment with GCA teams and cross-functional partners so work with shared stakeholders is coordinated and consistent
• \tShare market and therapeutic area (TA) knowledge and best practices across GCA
Basic Qualifications
• \tBachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific or business discipline
• \t10+ years of experience in commercial analytics, market research, insights or a related quantitative field, including significant experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
• \t5+ years of proven experience managing and developing analytics or insights teams, including direct line management
• \tDemonstrated track record of advising senior commercial leaders and influencing strategic business decisions using data and insights
Preferred Qualifications
• \tMaster's degree or MBA in a quantitative or business discipline
• \tDeep knowledge of the India pharmaceutical market, including key secondary data sources, market dynamics and the competitive landscape
• \tBroad expertise across commercial analytics capabilities, including secondary data analytics, primary market research, reporting and visualization, and forecasting/modeling; hands-on experience with Dataiku Data Science Studio (DSS) and Tableau is highly desired
• \tTrack record of applying artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and data science approaches to solve business problems at scale
• \tExperience leading teams across multiple brands or therapeutic areas in a matrixed, regional or global organization
• \tExperience managing analytics and research budgets and vendor partnerships
• \tExperience supporting new product launches and portfolio strategy
• \tStrong business sense and executive presence, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly with senior stakeholders
• \tChange leadership mindset, with a history of driving innovation and building future-ready team capabilities
• \tFluency in English
