This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in Texas.What You’ll Do
- Verify insurance eligibility, active coverage dates, benefits, copays, deductibles, and other applicable coverage details prior to services.
- Communicate with insurance carriers and internal billing teams to resolve discrepancies, clarify benefits, and address missing or inaccurate information.
- Accurately enter and maintain demographic, insurance, authorization, and call documentation in the electronic health record or billing system.
- Monitor pending verifications, follow up as needed, and communicate updates in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
- One to three years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a healthcare front-office setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA requirements, and common insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and PPO plans.
- Experience using electronic medical record, electronic health record, or billing software.
- Strong computer skills and fast, accurate data entry.
- Excellent communication, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must reside in Texas and be able to perform the position remotely from a secure, professional workspace.
