An Average Day:
(Includes, but not limited to)
- Works closely with Central Intake team. Is the “expert” on insurance related inquiries.
- Verify commercial insurance benefits when needed, concurrently with the influx of new referrals
- Audit all new admission charts for multiple sites.
- Audits and verifies correct Notice of Election information entry and communicates with billing
department. - Verify all patient information is correct, change information as it is identified as having been
incorrect - Communicate closely with Central Intake department, location business offices and corporate
billing department. - Validate and confirm entry of Medicaid, Medi-Cal and Medicaid Room and Board.
- Pinpoints potential areas of compliance exposure and risk of non-payment.
- Supports confidentiality policies including company policies, HIPAA, etc
- Re-verify all payer information for multiple sites at the beginning of a new year and communicate liability to families/patient.
- Participates in department quality initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with team and with families/patients
