AIG UK Underwriting Business Operations is an exciting and dynamic business area at AIG. The Underwriting Business Operations team is the intersection between our Underwriting activity and the servicing of our business, ensuring we are delivering our promises to our brokers and clients externally.

Reporting directly to the UK and Global Specialty Chief Operating Officer, this is an excellent role that offers great career progression, a fantastic platform to further develop leadership skills, a unique perspective to enhance your understanding of the underwriting business, and a role through which you will increase your broader business acumen.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact by playing a critical part in enhancing and further developing the UK underwriting business operations success.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the UK Contract Centres with responsibility for ~50 employees onshore and offshore
Support the day-to-day operations of the Underwriting Service Centre, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery to underwriting teams and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with Operations Business and Underwriting teams and leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives.
Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times.
Manage and enhance performance metrics, reporting, and analytics to drive accountability and data-informed decision-making between difference areas of the business
Oversee resource planning, workflow management, and workload balancing across teams.
Support the UK and Global Specialty COO with oversight, reporting and governance of the UK and Global Specialty Operational Performance including driving continuous improvement, increased efficiencies and implementation of best practices
Research, compile, analyse and summarize data for special projects and/or reports
Maintain strong and effective relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure that business operations service delivery meets expectations.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, standard operating procedures, and system efficiencies.
Apply analytics for operational performance measurement, benchmarking and competitive analysis around key areas.
Partner with other areas of the business including Finance, Technology and Data to problem solve and develop solutions.

What you’ll need to succeed:
Experience operating in a large financial services organisation or a consultancy firm with a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives
Passion for driving a culture of operational excellence across the organization Analytical mindset, able to work with data and metrics to drive process improvements
Ability to deal well with ambiguity, conflict and difficult situations
Strong people management skills, with the proven ability to motivate and develop others
Experience in the Insurance Industry and a strong understanding of Underwriting Operations desirable
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in change management methodologies and tools
