Where You’ll Make a Difference
• Act as the site focal point for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) performance, compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Lead the design, validation, testing, and periodic verification of SIS in alignment with IEC 61511 standards.
• Define, configure, maintain, and improve control system safety interlocks and automation systems.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for instrumentation and control systems.
• Contribute to electrical safety programs, including LOTO, energy isolation, arc flash management, and safe work procedures.
• Support and lead instrumentation and control activities for capital and continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in process safety activities such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, SIL assessments, and risk analyses.
• Ensure all control system modifications are managed through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Define and monitor KPIs related to SIS availability, instrumentation reliability, and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, EHS, project teams, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
What Makes You the Right Fit
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Industrial, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety principles and standards, particularly IEC 61511 and SIS.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial environments such as chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
• Proven experience with instrumentation and control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), commissioning, troubleshooting, and safety-critical operations.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including arc flash and energy isolation concepts.
• Experience with Siemens PCS7 or equivalent distributed control systems.
• Understanding of process risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL.
• Familiarity with industrial automation networks, SAP or similar ERP systems, and AutoCAD.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
