· Lead evaluation and interpretation of customer contract requirements and technical specifications
· Own instrumentation scope, schedules, and deliverables for assigned projects
· Develop and review complex instrumentation specifications, RFQs, and procurement strategies
· Provide technical oversight of vendor selection, bid evaluations, and supplier performance
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of P&IDs, instrument indexes, I/O lists, and loop designs
· Lead development and review of datasheets, drawings, and design documentation
· Drive resolution of technical issues, customer comments, and design conflicts
· Act as primary technical interface with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
· Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
· Lead development and continuous improvement of I&C procedures, standards, and best practices
· Support and lead troubleshooting, commissioning, and field issue resolution
· Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and regional requirements
· Lead new vendor qualification and evaluation efforts
· Support business development activities including bid reviews and technical proposals
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
· Typically, 6–10+ years of relevant I&C experience in power generation or similar industries
· Strong expertise in gas turbine controls and/or balance-of-plant systems
· Advanced knowledge of control systems (e.g., MK5/MK6, T3000, Ovation, DeltaV, SIMATIC, etc.)
· Deep experience with SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) or similar engineering tools
· Strong knowledge of instrumentation design, sizing, and application
· Advanced understanding of I/O architecture, system integration, and plant operations
· Proven ability to interpret and apply industry standards (ISA, ANSI/NEMA, NFPA, AGA, etc.)
· Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills
· Strong problem-solving and project execution capabilities
· Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Willingness to travel up to 5-10%
